Cicognino is a small table designed by Franco Albini in 1953 and produced by Cassina.
The peculiarity of this object is the leg that extends to become a practical handle, which serves to easily move the object.
Cicognino is simplicity. Only the elements necessary for its purpose are part of it, nothing more. No superfluous details, but the attention to detail is maniacal. It combines stylistic perfection and balance, grace and playfulness: in fact, its name comes from the animal, and the handle is likened precisely to the neck of a stork, which ends in the beak. And herein lies the greatest challenge, to succeed in making an object compared to an animal extremely elegant. It seems to be very difficult, but Franco Albini has succeeded brilliantly.
