Inflatable armchair created by the trio De Pas, D’Urbino and Lomazzi in 1967 for Zanotta.
This seat marks a turning point: it is the first time that a piece of furniture of this inflatable type is presented.
Blow became a true symbol of free design, of this break with history towards something new. It is still considered an icon of pop design of those years, in which revolutionary ideas took hold. The trio was inspired here by Marcel Breuer’s theoretical ideal, according to which: “a breath of air on which to rest will sooner or later be the future of sofas.” An absolutely future-oriented vision, but one that brought these three guys success thanks to a revolutionary idea for the time. And what can I say, Blow has been sold in large numbers and has brought joy and happiness to many people.
