Very artistic and natural chair made by the duo of Reisinger Studio in 2021 for Moooi.
The chair started as a simple 3d model that went viral on the internet, so much so that Moooi decided to take care of it and put it into production.
As the name itself says, the main inspiration for this chair were the petals of the hydrangea. A product that came to light with the reputation of “unrealizable”, was noticed by the company Moooi, who decided to produce it in a limited edition. An incredible explosion of softness makes this armchair a true hymn to nature, a total immersion in it. Made with over 30,000 petals of upholstery, Hortensia wants to welcome in a soft embrace anyone who decides to sit down, and make the feeling of being enveloped by a huge flower. The coating used was developed specifically for the seat: it is called Petal, is composed of long strips of pink polyester fabric laser-cut and rippled and is able to guarantee perfectly the desired effect. In short, a decidedly ambitious and exceptional project, which was welcomed with open arms by Moooi.
