Clock made by Goerge Nelson in 1953 for Vitra.
It is part of a collection consisting of three pieces, which takes precisely the name of Ceramic Clocks.
Of the three clocks that are part of the collection, Model 2 is definitely the one with the most unique shape. These objects combine geometric and organic shapes, and are both playful and sculptural at the same time. They are a strong example of 1950s American Modernism, shapes that are still pleasing but definitely don’t belong in our time. They are made of glazed porcelain and initially the Model 2 was launched in the color yellow. Now, however, Vitra reproposes it in a variety of colors, to make it more current. Definitely a very nice and particular desk companion, which helps us break the monotony and stands out from the classic desk clocks.
