THE STORY OF QEEBOO

THE STORY OF QEEBOO

There are only two concepts to perfectly define Qeeboo: contemporary and ironic.
Ladies and gentlemen, today I want to tell you the story of a brand that we could define newborn, and that despite its very young age has already been able to impose itself in the world of international design.
Qeeboo was born in 2016 and was presented at the Salone del Mobile of that year, arousing magic, surprise and of course curiosity.
The author of this new brand is a well-known name on the Italian design scene: Stefano Giovannoni. In fact, the designer has collaborated with many world-famous companies, among which one of the most important is certainly Alessi.
After having created funny and joking objects for others, Giovannoni decided to give life to an ironic brand of his own, one that would attract people’s attention and push them to take life with a bit of lightness and sympathy.
The great thing about this brand is that it appeals equally to children and adult dreamers: in fact, everything Qeeboo creates is very fairytale-like and makes sure that we can immerse ourselves in a world where we can have fun, it doesn’t matter if we are no longer children!
The brand’s approach is clearly ironic, as can be seen from every single one of its objects: we do not expect to see one of their objects in an office or a room of a certain importance and seriousness, but on the contrary, the protagonists of this story can make a simple and common environment joyful and fun.

From the bunny you can sit on, to the giraffe that makes light in the house or outside, to the shark that “eats” our umbrellas, Qeeboo can be defined as the pursuit of happiness at all times.
The goal is always the one that unites all design research: functionality combined with originality, to stand out from all the others.
The team is composed of several professionals with an original character, who work alongside Giovannoni in the design of the various objects. Among them we can mention Andrea Branzi, the duo Front, Marcel Wanders, Richard Hutten and Nika Zupanc. They all collaborate for a common purpose, which is to carry on Qeeboo’s magnificent and fairytale-like history with ever new and original ideas.
The company’s items are available in the most prestigious international concept and department stores.
Among the most acclaimed products are: Rabbit, the bunny sitting or lamp; Kong, the monkey holding a light bulb in its paw; Giraffe in Love, the huge giraffe holding up a chandelier; and Killer, the shark umbrella holder.
The main purpose of the brand is to continue to be more and more successful thanks to the out of the ordinary ideas that are able to fascinate adults and children. Giovannoni has succeeded in creating a brand that is able to bring joy. After all, if it is called “the dream factory” there will be a reason!

CURIOSITY:

The Kong lamp collection designed by Stefano Giovannoni is not inspired by the Gorilla as a simple animal, but by the same one that became a movie icon. In fact, its name is a strong reference to “King Kong”, and Giovannoni wanted to transform this figure into a lamp with an ironic style.
