Lamp designed and produced by Ingo Maurer since 1992.
The originality of this product lies in having given wings to a simple incandescent light bulb, which thus became a flying being.
Ingo Maurer considers the incandescent light bulb a mixture of technique and poetry and makes it the central element of his work. The name comes from the fusion of two words that characterize it: “light” and “bird”. The magnificent goose feathers that form the wings embellish this lamp and give it a poetic aspect. An irregularly shaped copper wire supports the light source, just as if the bird were flying in a completely free manner. Thanks to this effect, the light bulb really seems to come to life. A perfect synthesis of functionality and poetry, which characterizes the entire history of Ingo Maurer.
