Armchair designed by Konstantin Grcic in 2018 for Magis.
The essence of this armchair is very simple, because it started from the use of a material: cast iron.
Cast iron is an industrial material, which is generally not used in the domestic sphere, also because its appearance can be rough and unworked to the eye. In this case, however, Grcic has taken this material and has deliberately decided to use it in a project for domestic use. The result is a heavy object, with a strong character and great impact on the user. “Brut” means “rough” and the name was taken precisely from the appearance of cast iron. The detail of the colored cushions, however, gives color, as well as comfort, to the seat and makes it a perfect combination of hardness and softness.
